He Set the World in Motion

God made man in his own image. It was part of God's plan we would be judges And make a stand as overseers of justice. God doesn't do miracles, he set the world in motion Knowing it would unfold according to his calculations. He planned evil's manipulation And designed it to be the source of our motivation, Knowing we'd find our way through love and devotion. To believe that faith in any particular religion Will satisfy your soul, you're sadly mistaken. The contagion of goodwill is a given. Caring and giving as a deep heartfelt gesture Is more powerful than incantations or prayer. Going by our track record, we'll probably save the world Just a couple of minutes before we are to destroy it. Our folly will run the gamut. I don't see God as having a personality. If our acts are not righteous he doesn't even see. I heard an evangilists' wife state on TV That she prays for bargains on shopping sprees. I don't feel God is that puny. He doesn't interfere with what he's prearranged, I believe he's prearranged everything. Life is growing, growing is change, If you stagnate you will decay, You'll be pushed aside by a younger day. If you are comfortable, contented, or tame, You want the status quo to remain the same, No matter how many people your policies slay. For life to grow you'll have to change God communicates with us through deep feelings, He guides us with heart strings. Greed and avarice are just fear, Same as moral indignation and feeling superior. No person is any better than any other, Some people are more desperate than others. The world will pull through if we pull together. Civil strife could very well be the next world catastrophe, First here, then there, exploding everywhere. So many people in the world are under extreme pressure, Some have lost too much, others not enough to live for. There'll never be peace while so many suffer.
